Ferrocement Water Tank: The purpose of this water tank is to collect and store rainfall for domestic use and secondarily to store the collected thermal energy of the sun through a series of solar collectors.   The warm water's primary use will be to boost the efficiency of a radiant slab system for the near-by home.  The tank is designed for an array of other potential uses such as for fish production and swimming.

Some of these other potential uses, in order of most likely first, are: fish production, distilled water production, swimming, water plant production, biofuel production and storage and hyperbaric oxygen therapy unit.  The longevity of this ferrocement hull makes consideration of future alternate uses in design prudent.

This upper tank is much wider in the base and will be supported by a 9 foot colume.  This tank begins to slope down hill to the lower level pad.  The sand is liberally sprinkled with bentonite powder and bentonite gravel called Enviroplug to protect the subgrade from wash-out due to a possible leak, and also seal the slab should the slab leak.
